REBCO HTS

AMPeers produces next-generation REBCO high-temperature superconductor (HTS) tapes that carry 300-600× the current as a comparably sized copper wire with zero electrical loss.

Our proprietary Advanced MOCVD process enables 4× higher performance, 10× greater throughput, and a fraction of the cost of conventional manufacturing methods. Each tape combines exceptional current density, flexibility, and scalability—delivering record performance in high-field and high-power environments.

AMPeers’ technology addresses the global supply and cost bottlenecks limiting today’s HTS industry. By cutting production costs from over $120/kA·m to under $20/kA·m, AMPeers is enabling the widespread adoption of superconductors in fusion magnets, power transmission, and next-generation energy systems.
STAR® Round Superconducting Wires

AMPeers’ STAR® (Symmetric Tape Round) superconducting wires combine flexibility, strength, and record performance for next-generation high-field and high-power systems. With diameters as small as 1–2 mm, STAR® wires maintain high critical currents from 4.2 K to 77 K and can bend to a 15 mm radius without performance loss—capabilities unmatched by traditional superconductors.

Built on AMPeers’ symmetric REBCO tape architecture and Advanced MOCVD technology, STAR® delivers over 3× higher current density and >1,000 A/mm² at 20 T. The design enables compact, low-loss, high-field magnets for fusion, particle accelerators, defense, and advanced power systems.

AMPeers has scaled STAR® production to 60 m lengths and is partnering with Fermilab and LBNL to integrate STAR® cables into CCT and COMB magnet systems, proving robust performance in the most demanding environments.
